A HELPING HAND

Our Organization, for the past half an year has been handling activities that has impacted the vulnerable children and families a positive results. First in the month of April, we were privileged to purchase a set of school uniform: Shoes, Sweater, Tie, Socks, Shirts, Blouse and Skirt/Trousers for some of the children who were joining High School but were not in a position to purchase them.

In the month of May, 2020, we had heard several challenges that girls and young women in the community were facing concerning their Menstrual Hygiene. Most of them were using alternative ways that are not healthy for them, for example, a lady said during the interview that She uses mattress to prevent the flow of blood and other's uses napkins, clothes and one roll of a tissue in a day during their periods. This made us to cheap in as an organization, to help this young girls acquire sanitary towels that are necessary for them, good for their health and build confidence in them.

Menstruation is a normal and healthy part of life for girls and women. Most women have their monthly periods for 3 to 7 days, but lack of information about menstruation leads to damaging misconception.

Therefore, our Organization empowered 40 girls on their menstrual hygiene and life skills to enable them stay healthy in life with much courage.

It is a very empowering experience for the girl child. It creates a sense of ownership. You see it. Listen to them. Design with them. Move with them around in the community.

We are grateful for donors, well-wishers and partner who financially support us to help us carry activities like this in contributing to the success of vulnerable children.
